Boy Scouts of America Exhibits at the 2012 Licensing Expo

Boy Scouts of America Exhibits at the 2012 Licensing Expo

For the sixth year, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) returned to exhibit at the Licensing Expo. The Licensing Expo is the premiere industry trade show in the licensing business where hundreds of licensors gather to showcase their brands and properties to educate companies about current and upcoming licensing opportunities.

This year, the BSA introduced its Be Prepared® property available for license. The BSA also announced new licensed products with Medline Industries (Curad®) for Be Prepared® first aid kits and Olympia Granola for Be Prepared® granola bars during the Expo. Additional Be Prepared® licensed products are expected to be introduced in late 2012 and early 2013 in the sporting goods category from Pem America and Brand 44 which include tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and camping accessories.

Curad Introduces Be Prepared First Aid Kit

The Be Prepared® first aid kit offers quality first aid products in a well-organized carrying case, giving consumers a comprehensive kit for their core first aid needs. The components were developed in partnership with the Boy Scouts through feedback from an on-line survey done within the scouting community. "With over 98 years of first aid experience, we are excited about the opportunity to partner with the Boy Scouts on a product that is a logical fit for healthy, active families," said Christy Roland, Product Manager, Primary Care Retail for Medline Industries.

In addition to the standard adhesive bandages and gauze pads, consumers will find unique items in the kit such as Curad® Silver Solution™ antimicrobial gel, an elastic wrap, an arm sling/tourniquet, and scissors.
