Scout Wire - E-newsletter

Scout Wire is an e-newsletter for local and National Council employees featuring a quick look at the latest BSA news and information.

How do I get my news item published in Scout Wire?
Obtain all necessary approvals and get your submission copy edited as you normally would. Finally, send your item (or any questions you may have) to internal.communications@scouting.org.

How do I use the Scout Wire site?
Scout Wire is hosted on a blog platform, where all posts—regardless of category—will appear in the center column. The “hot” items for each date will be listed first, followed by stories that are of general interest.

If you’d only like to see stories that fall into a certain category, you have a number of options:

  • Use the tabs along the top of the screen to sort by category.
  • Use the “Search” function at the top right of the screen.
  • Click on the “Tags” tab in the right column to find specific items.

To return to the full story listing, click the “> Home” category or on the Scout Wire header along the top.

Can I share this information with volunteers or others?
Absolutely! While Scout Wire is written with all employees in mind, volunteers at all levels may find the information useful. To make the sharing process easier, we’ve included some tools in the top left corner for sharing site links via social media such as Twitter and Facebook.

To share (or print) individual stories, click on the headline or “Read More” to open the full article, then use the sharing links, the comments field, or the printer icon for more interaction.
