Shoreline Stabilization
The shores and islands around the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland
experience erosion. Plants acting as natural buffers have been replaced
by parking lots, agricultural fields and lawns. Soil normally held in
place by the plant roots runs into the bay and settles, with harmful
effects.
Project Objective: Slow down erosion on the Chesapeake Bay shoreline.
