Aliens Invade Sanctuary
Invasive plants (aliens) are not historically native to an area, and
their introduction likely will cause economic or environmental harm or
threaten human health. Alien plants can suppress and force out all
native plants in an ecosystem. Mapping where alien species grow is
typically the first step in managing or eradicating invasive plants. The
Jean Ellen duPont Sheehan Audubon Sanctuary, near Bozman, MD, had no
such map.
Project Objective: Help control invading alien plants in the sanctuary by mapping their location.
